How to connect a domain in WebRank
Open Domains in the admin and press Connect existing. Enter the domain you already own.
- Type your domain, for example yourbrand.com.
- Open DNS records to see the values to copy.
- At your domain provider, add the A record and the www CNAME shown.
- Come back and press Verify.
- When DNS points to your store, the status changes to Connected.
Where do I find the DNS values? Use the DNS records button next to the domain. The Domains screen also shows your store server address and your default store address.
WebRank does not sell domains. You buy the domain from any registrar, then connect it here.
What the statuses mean
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | DNS has not updated yet. Press Verify again later. |
| Connected | The domain points to your store. |
| Needs attention | Something is wrong. Check the note under the domain. |
Until your DNS updates, the domain shows Pending. DNS changes can take time, so wait before you retry.
Primary domain and redirect
The primary domain is the address shown to customers and Google. You can switch it with Set as primary on any connected domain.
- Your default store address always works and cannot be removed.
- Turn on the redirect to send visitors from other addresses to the primary one.
- The redirect is a 301, which suits Google.
- The admin always stays on your default store address.
SSL and the www version
SSL, the padlock in the browser, turns on by itself a few minutes after the domain points to your store. You do not upload a certificate.
A www version is listed under its main domain as a linked row. Removing a main domain asks for a verification number.
Limits to know
- You must own the domain first.
- You manage DNS at your registrar, not inside WebRank.
- Some addresses may be blocked by the system. You see an error if so.
- Email hosting for your domain is not part of the store. Your email records stay with your provider.

How do I know it works?

Is SSL included?
Yes. The padlock turns on by itself a few minutes after the domain points here.
Can I use more than one domain?
Yes. You can connect several and choose one as primary.
Will old links break?
Turn on the redirect so other addresses move to the primary domain.
Can I remove a domain?
Yes. Removing asks for a verification number.
Does WebRank sell domains?
No. Buy it at any registrar.
