Profit tracking for online store sellers

WebRank has an Accounts page that estimates profit from revenue, product cost, courier cost and expenses. It also tracks COD cash that couriers still owe you.

Quick facts

  • Profit equals revenue minus product cost, courier cost and expenses.
  • Courier cost uses one flat rate per parcel.
  • Eight expense categories with date and note.
  • COD cash waiting with each courier, by age.
  • Mark delivered COD orders as settled.
  • Included in Starter at Rs 4,999 per month.

How profit is worked out

Pick a period and the page shows gross revenue, cost of goods, courier and expenses, and the profit left. A bar shows what share of revenue each part takes.

PartWhere the number comes from
RevenueOrder totals, without cancelled or returned orders
Cost of goodsCost per item you enter on each product
Courier costShipped parcels times one flat cost per parcel
ExpensesEntries you add on the Expenses tab

Set the courier cost per parcel in Settings. The default is Rs 180. Real courier rates vary by city and weight, so this is an estimate.

Expenses you can record

Add an amount, a date, a category and an optional note. The categories are fixed.

  • Salaries
  • Rent
  • Utilities
  • Stock purchase
  • Software
  • Other

You can delete a wrong entry. Totals update for the period you have selected. Put Meta ad spend under Ads to see how much of revenue it takes.

COD settlement ledger

Pakistani sellers wait for couriers to pay COD cash. The ledger lists delivered COD orders not yet settled, grouped by courier.

  • Pending payout per courier.
  • Cash in transit on parcels not yet delivered.
  • Ageing: 0 to 7 days, 8 to 14 days, 15 or more days.
  • Select orders and mark them settled when the money arrives.

An order stays on the list until you settle it. This makes late couriers easy to spot, because old rows move into the 15 or more days band.

Limits

Profit is only as good as your inputs. If a product has no cost, its cost of goods is zero and profit looks too high. This is not full bookkeeping. There is no tax, payroll or bank sync.

Stock purchases are recorded as an expense you type in. They are not linked to inventory.
